COVID-19 Updates

  • September 2020: We are getting really excited to share with you all our new virtual Drums & Dragons fundraiser¬† we created for this year on the fundraising platform GiveButter! The site will go LIVE on Monday, September 21, and run thru October 19. This year is still going to be chock-full of high-fiving fun, weekly challenges, and interactive, team-building, we will help you to get to know 6 area Nonprofits who are crushing it in their plight to educate others about individuals with Developmental Disabilities, Autism, Alzheimer's, and more while also striving to provide healthy foods and medical care to our underserved populations. Join us throughout the month for an educational, participatory fundraiser that is truly making a difference in the lives of our WNC neighbors!
  • June 18, 2020: After a great deal of discussion with our Dragon Committee, the Dragon Boat Race Organizers, and County Officials, we have decided to move this year's Drums & Dragons dragon boat fundraiser event to a virtual format. Our goal will be to hold a 4-week online fundraising event throughout the month of September, and then if at all possible, have a smaller award ceremony, single boat race, and celebration event on Saturday, October 3rd, 2020 out at Lake Julian. Stay tuned as we will be updating you further on the finer details after our next Committee meeting on July 14th. We appreciate you all and genuinely hope that you will choose to take part in this year's event and support our 8 area non-profits who are the recipients of those fundraising dollars. Paddles Up!
